Our mother passed on to be with our Lord but her memories have been etched into our hearts forever. Many friends and relatives knew her by her nick name “Kaylena”. Glenna grew up in Morley at her parent’s home along with all her siblings. As young girl, Glenna found a love for swimming and from then on went swimming almost everyday in a nearby pond. Glenna often shared stories on how she would go swimming almost everyday, even if it meant getting into trouble from her parents because she often neglected her daily house chores. Soon after a swimming pool had opened up in Morley. The new swimming pool was her other favorite place to be. It was there she found her first employment by becoming a Lifeguard. Mom would say “Chuguja Gee (Kattia) who loves to swim inherited her love of water”. Glenna’s athleticism lead her to be a short stop in ladies fast pitch baseball, the team was called Hawkins lead by the late Irby Cecil as the coach. Volleyball, skiing and horseback riding were other enjoyments for her.
Glenna attended Morley school and went on to receive her diploma in Social Work at Mount Royal University. Glenna was employed by Stoney band for a number of years. Through her schooling and employment she made numerous close friends, like Millie Begay, Duane Mark, Pam Mark, Cam Sinclair, Virginia Wesley, PaulineWesley, Dianne Ridsdale, Verna Powderface, and Raqual Poucette.
Glenna had a passion for growing plants, and if you ever visited her home you would see all the wonderful landscaping surrounding her home, it is truly breath taking. Glenna’s love for Jesus made her sing in church, her favorite song was “One Day At A Time”. She would often get asked to sing at weddings and church. Family was a huge part of Glenna’s life, she dearly loved all her children, grandchildren, and all her siblings. Her dearest and best friend was her sister Margeret. They shared an incredible bond, never once been away from each other side. As a child, Glenna grew up with her cousins: Marilyn (Kiyo), Ora Baptiste, the late Carol Snow, and Coralyn Labelle . The five of them would venture and get into all sorts of trouble.
Finally her love and bond she had with her son Linus was truly an amazing relationship. Sadly, due to his battle with cancer, Linus also went home to be with our Lord in June 13, 2021.
Glenna was predeceased by her parents Eliza & Henry Sr. Holloway; son’s Linus Twoyoungmen and Duran Holloway; mother-in-law Rosanne Twoyoungmen; brother Franklyn Holloway; two half brothers in Eden Valley; and numerous other family and friends, too many to mention. We apologize if we missed anyone.
