Bray, Gretchen (nee Redd) June 28, 1945 – October 9, 2014 Gretchen Redd Bray passed away peacefully in Salt Lake City, Utah on Oct 9, 2014 after a long battle with Leukemia. She was born in Moab, Utah on June 28, 1945 to Alma J and Vivian (Washburn) Redd. She grew up in Blanding and attended San Juan High School, graduating in 1963. She met her sweetheart Kenneth Bray while attending BYU and moved to Calgary after graduation. Gretchen has resided there ever since except for the treasured years she spent as a missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Toronto, ON, Chestertown, MD, and Salt Lake City, UT for the past 3 1/2 years. Her greatest joy is her family. She is survived by her husband Ken, currently of Salt Lake City, UT; their children Heidi (Murray) Smith of Provo, UT, Jeff (Karen) Bray of Calgary, Kristl Bray of Salt Lake City, UT, Natalie (Jeff) Ranson of Pleasant Grove, UT and Brittany (Brad) Tew of Yakima, WA; a Brother Harold (Pat) Redd; two sisters Patsy (Kay) Shumway and Marta Brown; as well as 13 beautiful grandchildren whom she adores. Relatives and friends are invited to visit at Pierson’s Funeral Home, 4121 – 17 Avenue SE on Sunday, October 19 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm. A Funeral Service will be held at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints – Parkland Stake Center (14540 Parkland Blvd. SE , Calgary) on Monday, October 20, 2014 at 11:00 am with a visitation from 10:00 am to 10:45 am prior to the service. Interment will follow the service at the Okotoks Cemetery. If friends desire, memorial tributes may be made to the Huntsman Cancer Institute, http://healthcare.utah.edu/huntsmancancerinstitute/giving/huntsman-cancer-foundation.
