It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of Heather Ruth Campbell of Calgary, Alberta on Thursday, February 3, 2022, at the age of 75.
Heather was born on July 2, 1946, in Regina, SK. After residing in several places between Alberta and British Columbia, Heather attended school in Edmonton, AB and earned a Sociology degree from Simon Fraser University in British Columbia. She had a full career which included administrative positions at various large Canadian companies, ultimately finishing her career working for the federal government serving her fellow Canadians before retiring in 2009.
After retiring, Heather spent her time watching over her grandchildren and spending time with family and friends and the company of her beloved dog, Leonardo. Heather also took the opportunity to travel to different places to see loved ones around the world.
Heather was predeceased by her parents, Duncan and Lois Campbell of Edmonton, Alberta. She is survived by her daughters, Pia (Ron) Lawrence, Jennifer (Natalie) Christensen; her brothers, David (Irene), Robert (Sandy), and Neil Campbell; nieces, Ailsa, Isis, and Teresa; nephews, Andrew, Thomas, Simon, and David; grandchildren, Hannah, Noah, and Aurelia.
Heather will be greatly missed for her candor, her work ethic, her infectious laugh, as well as her deep love for closest friends and family.
Heather’s family is very grateful to the second-floor staff of Bow View Manor where Heather resided for the last years of her life. As well as for Bridget who provided companionship and support. Many thanks are given to Patrick Decker-Lane, who gave friendship and provided wonderful hairstyling to Heather. Also, the Family wishes to thank the many friends who visited Heather during her stay at Bow View Manor over the years.
Heather’s life will be celebrated on Saturday, February 12, 2022, at 11:00 a.m. at the Bow Valley Chapel of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints (2526 24
th
Ave NW, Calgary, Alberta). A brief reception will follow at the same location, with refreshments being served.
