Helen Ann Braa

Helen, beloved sister, aunt, and cousin passed away peacefully, at the age of 78 years, on Tuesday, August 9 after a brief illness. Helen is remembered with much love by her sister Linda (Ken) of Calgary and their children Stephanie, Stephen and Geoffrey, and by her brother David (Joan) of Nanaimo and their children Addison and Kathleen and by her nephew James of Nanaimo. Helen was preceded by her parents Kay and Ray, her step-father Perley and her brothers Ken and Keith. Helen was unique and exceptional, accepting the challenges that she faced throughout her life with determination and humour. Helen loved tile rummy, bingo and listening to country music, especially Charlie Pride. Helen’s family would like to thank Helen’s dear friend and support worker Allison for the love and devoted care that she provided in Helen’s later years. A memorial service (with reception to follow) will be held at St. Barnabas Anglican Church (1407 – 7 Avenue NW) on Saturday, August 13, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. with The Reverend Kersi Bird officiating. Interment at Rocky View Garden of Peace Cemetery. If so desired, memorial donations may be made in Helen’s name to Meals on Wheels (5759 – 80 Avenue SE, Calgary, AB T2C 4S6).
