Heryty Asmelash Gerezgher

Heryty Asmelash Gerezgher was born on January 1, 1955, in Adi Gebry to her father Asmelash Gerezgher and her mother Nigesti Barakial. Our mom was raised in Adi Gebry until she was a teenager. she was closer to her parent’s.

Our mother was married to the love of her life to our late father, Haile Nyzgi, in Um Hajer and then they moved together to Humera and then to Sudan. Together they raised 5 children; Misghna, Asmeret, Tekhlit, Akhberet, and Rahwa. They lived in Sudan from 1977 to June 12, 2006.  On June 13, 2006, our mother came to Canada, alongside with her son and two daughters.

Our beloved mother was critically ill for the past few years, on Tuesday. Sep 25, our beloved mother passed away peacefully.

Our mother greatest love was her family and faith. We enjoyed quality and memorable times together and she will be greatly missed by her loving family and friends.

May her gentle soul rest in peace!
