Ida Roth, 96, formerly of Medicine Hat, AB, died peacefully in her sleep on February 15, 2019. She is predeceased by her husband of 66 years, Ben Roth of Medicine Hat. She is also predeceased by son-in-law, Victor Specht, grandson, Geoffrey Specht, sisters, Edna Thome and Esther Hauck, and brother Walter Grams.
A loving mother and homemaker, Ida was a fantastic cook and baker. She loved to bake for her family and friends. Everyone who knew her loved the treats (especially the Kuchen) she set before them. Alongside her husband, Ben, she produced a bountiful garden and spent many hours canning and freezing vegetables. She was also a crafter and was best known for her beautiful crocheted Afghans.
Family was Idas passion and delight. She cherished every moment with them and was a great listener. She gave the best hugs and always filled the room with love. Everyone was special to her and she made sure they knew it.
Ida is survived by her four loving daughters, Carolyn Specht, Donnalee Campbell (Ken), Judy Wood (Leonard), Renee Moody (John); seven grandchildren, Nancy Power (Fred), Kory Campbell (Vanessa), Drew Campbell (Bree), Alex Wood, Megan Wolfe (Jason), Ben Moody and Richard Moody as well as seven great grandchildren; Kayden, Riley, Sam, Xander, Kynlee, Sawyer and Lennox.
