Ilidio (Leo) Nuno Jeronimo

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Ilidio (Leo) Jeronimo on December 10, 2022 at the age of 71 years.

Leo was born in Relva, Sao Miguel, Azores, Portugal. The family moved to Calgary in 1965. Leo always stayed true to his Portuguese roots and customs. He was involved in the Portuguese Community, having been one of the founding members of the Portuguese Filarmonica of Calgary. Leo was a welder by trade and took great pride in his work.

Leo is survived by his sons Mike (Reeva) and Gary (Cara); granddaughters Leanda and Lyla; brother Jerry (Agnes); sister Mandi (Joe); nephew Bertine (Lea); great nephews Aerius and Gabriel; step-nephew Gary; step-niece Latisha (Loukas); great step-nieces Ellee and Sofia; great step-nephew Christos; aunt Maria Jose Faria; and many cousins throughout Canada, the United States and Portugal.  He was predeceased by his parents Guilherme and Diamantina Jeronimo.

The family would like to thank the staff at Carewest Rouleau Manor for his continuing care, as well as the staff at the Emergency Department and Unit 82 of the Rockyview General Hospital for their caring and compassionate care given to Leo.

A prayer service for Leo will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 15, 2022 at Our Lady of Fatima (English & Portuguese) Catholic Church, 4747 – 30 Street SE , Calgary, where Funeral Mass will also be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, December 16, 2022. Interment will follow at Mountain View Memorial Gardens.
