Dyck, Jacqueline (nee Corrigan) of Calgary, AB, passed away peacefully on Tuesday May 14, 2024, surrounded by her loving family.
Jacquie was born on August 4, 1955 in Calgary, Alberta where she lived her entire life and was a proud ‘born and raised Calgarian’. Calgary was also where she met and married her husband of 42 years, Larry Dyck and raised their two daughters, Marianne and Amanda.
Jacquie loved spending time with her family and the countless friends that she made over the years, many of whom she met while working at the family business, Rollerland.
She loved to travel each summer to Las Vegas where she enjoyed playing the penny slots and to Disneyland where she would ride ‘It’s a Small World’ over and over again until her family was crazy from the song. Jacquie absolutely loved camping and would not let her limited mobility stop her from heading out to Caroline or Sundre whenever there was a long weekend.
Although Jacquie had many joys in her life, the thing she loved most was her family, especially her three grandchildren; Grady, Theo and Owen. The only thing she loved more in life than being a mom, was being their ‘Bumma’.
Jacquie is survived by her devoted husband, Larry and her daughters, Marianne Dyck and Amanda (Anthony) Hopkins; as well as her three grandsons, Grady, Theo, and Owen Hopkins; her sisters, Rhonda (Serge) Plante and Carol (Pat) Hamilton; her half-brother, Derek Corrigan; Jacquie's aunts, Shirley Hesleton and Peggy (Howie) Nadeau; her mother-in-law, May Dyck; brother-in-law, David (Mary) Dyck; along with numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
She was pre-deceased by her parents, Georgina and Ron Corrigan; her father in law, Hal Dyck; and her sister, Linda Matchett.
Jacquie will be lovingly remembered and deeply missed by all who had the privilege to know her.
A Celebration of Jacquie’s Life will be held on Saturday, June 1, 2024 at the Marlborough Park Community Hall ( 6021 Madigan Drive Calgary, AB) From 11:00 am -1:00 pm.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you please consider making a donation in Jacquie’s memory to the Kidney Foundation of Canada or to the Canadian Diabetes Foundation.
