James “Jim” Edward Sladek

Jim Sladek passed away on Monday, November 26, 2018 at the age of 68 years. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 45 years Isabelle; daughter Heather (Mike) Studer, and their children Kaylee and Ashton; son Jimmy (Alysha) Sladek, and their children Austin, Ella, Alivia, Will and James; sister Donna (Daryll) Cameron; mother-in-law Anne Robertson; brother-in-law Dale Robertson; and many more family and friends. He was predeceased by his parents Ernest & Joyce Sladek and father-in-law Warrender Robertson. Jim was born and raised in Drumheller, AB. In his teen years the family moved to Calgary where he has lived ever since. He met the love of his life Isabelle in 1972 and knew right away that she was “the one.” They were married in 1973 and were blessed with their two children, Heather and Jimmy. Jim owned his own construction company for 34 years. He loved the outdoors, playing the guitar and buying, driving and selling cars. A Funeral Service will be held for Jim at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints – 44th Street Chapel (833 – 44 Street SE, Calgary) on Monday, December 3, 2018 at 11:00 am. Visitation will be held from 10:15-10:45 am. Interment will follow at Mountain View Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Jim’s memory to the Kidney Foundation (www.kidney.ca).
