With his love of sports and proclivity for bringing people together he was a founding member of the Calgary Canadian Irish Athletic Club. His charm and an easy warm wit allowed him to make friends easily and he fostered many lifelong friendships. He had a way about him, of taking his experiences with people and places near and far and weaving them into beguiling stories steeped in humour. In the last few years, graced with willingness and courage, he was able to make profound changes in his life. With this strength of spirit he enjoyed the deep love and fellowship of family and friends until the last moments he spent with us.
