Jeffery “Jeff” Lawrence Poirier

With great sadness we announce the passing of Jeffery Poirier on Saturday, July 1, 2023, in Calgary, Alberta, at the age of 41 years. He is survived by his parents, Donna and Joe Poirier; sister, Judy (Guy) Cormier; niece, Michaela Bridgeman; nephew, Gage Cormier; children, Braeden Shaw, Keegan Shaw, Aurora Shaw, Ceara Shaw and Arianna Shaw; mother-in-law Sylvia McKenzie; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Larry Jr. (Tina), Dietrich (Leah), Heath (Sarah-Lyn) and their children, Bronik, Ashlyn, Daxton, Cypher and Ezra-Lyn. He was a brother and uncle to numerous friends and nieces and nephews. Jeff was predeceased by his partner, Angela McKenzie; grandparents, Cliff & Ruth Oberhammer.

Jeff was born in Calgary, Alberta on July 23, 1981. He had one of the biggest hearts of anybody. Jeff would help everyone he could. It didn’t matter if he knew you or was just driving by and spotted someone in need. He was our mechanic, tech guru, electrician (although he hated doing that), and all around go-to guy. If we needed him, he was there. He was a rock and pillar of strength to all his friends and family. Jeff tried to be everything to everyone. His passing has left a huge hole in the lives of everyone who knew him.

Jeff will never be forgotten. He lives in the hearts of the many people who knew him and loved him.

A Visitation will take place at Pierson’s Funeral Service Forest Lawn Chapel (4121 17Avenue SE, Calgary) on Thursday, July 20, 2023 at 7:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. A Memorial Service will then be held for Jeff at Foothills Lutheran Church (3104 – 34th Ave NW, Calgary, AB) on Saturday, July 22, 2023 at 11:00 am. A Celebration of Life will then follow at his sisters house at 1:00pm. Parking will be available at 3867 Fonda Way SE. Follow the signs in Parking Lot.
