John “Jack” Crichton Hurrell

John ‘Jack’ Crichton Hurrell CPA, CMA, beloved husband of Helen Hurrell, passed away in Calgary on May 30, 2020 at the age of 87. Jack is the son of the late John and Jessie Hurrell. Jack is survived by his wife, Helen and loving dog, Bekah; his sister, Judith Ann and uncle to Michael Rae, Christopher Rae and David Politi and their families. Special mention to Lori Williams and her son Daniel who have been our help, love and joy of our lives in our declining years. Dining, conversation, fun, always there for us. Our wonderful neighbours, Robert & Claudia Istuanffy always there to our beckoned call. Jack started his working career at Imperial Bank of Commerce, Hudson’s Bay (18 years), Pioneer Machinery (Rentals) Limited, Geo Space Canada Ltd. El Russ Aggregate and Fasoli Industries Ltd. The love of Jack’s life was drums, started playing at the age of 17. Jack’s father had to get permission from the N.Y. union for Jack to play. Jack has been a member of the Calgary Musicians Assoc. Local 547 to present (70 years). Love of cooking had a special place in his heart which he did to the very end. Jack has directed his remains be cremated and ashes buried in the plot where Helen’s father is buried, Moose Jaw, SK. It is Jack’s wish that there be no funeral service.
