With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Jack Landry on March 15, 2025, at the age of 67.
Jack was a devoted husband, a proud father and (great) grandfather, and a man whose heart was as big as his sense of humor. He is survived by his loving wife of over 18 years, Charlotte (“Charlie”) Landry, and their dog River. He leaves behind 6 children: Beth (Rob) Reinhart, Kelly (Erik) Schriver, Kristie Landry, Shawnee (Aaron) Pepin, Dallas Harvey, and Guy Harvey. His legacy continues through his 8 cherished grandchildren: Syenna (Josh) Mullin, Nicholas & Tyler Reinhart, Caiden & Barrett Pepin, Nathan, Ava & Brooke Harvey; and 3 adored great-grandchildren, Luna, Jasper & Colter Mullin. Jack is also survived by his siblings, Beverly (Phil) Purcell, Paul Landry, Tom (Audrey) Landry, his first wife, Lisa Landry, and a large extended family in Nova Scotia. He was predeceased by his parents, John and Irene Landry, beloved Aunt Anne, a son, Brady, and cherished pets including Piper, Amber and Bailey.
Born and raised in Halifax, Jack was the second oldest of 5 siblings. From an early age, he demonstrated an independent spirit and a love for hard work, qualities that would define him throughout his life. Jack found his true calling as a painter, a profession he adored, always taking immense pride in his craftsmanship and the satisfaction of a job well done.
Jack was a man of deep love and devotion. He married his first wife, Lisa, and together they raised 4 children, eventually moving to Calgary. After his first marriage, fate and timing brought him and Charlie together. Jack was a romantic at heart, always thoughtful and caring, and looking for ways to make her smile. They married and he gained two more children, blending their families into one.
Above all else, Jack was a man who knew the value of family, and was deeply involved in the lives of his loved ones. His larger than life personality, infectious laugh, sense of humor, and gift for storytelling made an impression on everyone he encountered.
Jack’s favorite song was “What a Wonderful World,” and he truly lived those words every day. Whether it was napping under a tree, listening to the wind, feeding all the outside critters, or spoiling his beloved dogs, Jack saw the beauty in the simple moments.
He made life feel a little lighter, a lot brighter, and a whole lot more entertaining. His absence will be felt in the hearts of all who were lucky enough to know him.
While he was here, it truly was a wonderful world.
