Joshua Kigongo Mukasa was born on August 22, 1986 in Calgary Alberta. He is the second oldest of 5 children. From a young age Josh loved being the leader and coming up with new ideas when it came to having fun with his friends and family. Whether it was playing carnival in the basement or building big forts, he always made sure everyone had fun.
Josh was always around watching and learning about cars from his dad. Before the age of 10 he was very curious about driving vehicles. You could even find him walking around everywhere spinning a broom stick and making car sounds. That was the beginning of his interests in mechanics.
At 10 years old, Josh joined navy league cadets and became part of the music department where his older brother was. He was passionate about playing the snare drum, and was such an amazing drummer. Even after he left cadets, he kept his love for music alive.
After he finished High school at Saint Mary’s, he went to S.A.I.T. to get a certificate in mechanics. From there he worked at Trans X for a couple of years. While working there, he was diagnosed with an illness and eventually stopped working to concentrate on his health.
Throughout his adult years, Josh had countless opportunities to attend many concerts. He’s had the chance to meet big stars, but his favourite moment was meeting 4 members of Bone Thugs-N-Harmony.
He was an enormous help when it came to taking care of his niece and nephew. They loved playing games and running around the house with him.
We will miss those big brown eyes, and that quiet personality of his.
He was survived by his Mother, Sarah; Father, David; Brother, Collin; Sisters, Charlene, Irene & Diana; Niece, Jhana and Nephew, Richard and predeceased by his grandparents, Florence, Chai & Nambi; uncle, Jimmy and Godfrey.
