Justin Laurence Alexander Mckinnon-Bloome (Rhodes)

Justin Lawrence Alexander Rhodes (McKinnon-Blomme) passed away on Wednesday, March 25, 2015 at the age of 21 years. He will be lovingly remembered by his parents Karleen & Paul Thibault; brothers Joshua Rhodes, Robert Blomme, Joel Blomme and Thomas Blomme, grandparents Ronald & Christine Rhodes and Henry Poirier, and Gary & Kay Beatty, step parents Matt and Crystal Beatty, step siblings Aiden, Spencer, and Sierra, great grandmother Elizabeth (Betty) McKinnon, and biological father Andrew Blomme. Also his aunts Belinda Garlough, Nichole Betournay, Ronalie McKinnon, Sheri Rhodes, Janelle (Rob) Hopkins, and Lise Poirier; Uncles Chuck (Jen) McKinnon, Josh McKinnon, Ron (Marianne) McKinnon, Kevin (Rose) Rhodes, Eddy Thibault, Paul Beatty; his nephew John Blomme and numerous cousins. He was predeceased by his grandmother Georgette Poirier and cousin Finley Betournay. Justin was born and raised in Calgary, Alberta. As a child Justin was very active and loved being outdoors. He loved climbing trees, especially the one in his grandparents front yard. He spent as much time outside as possible. Throughout the years, and many camping trips, Justin’s love of the outdoors grew. Bicycling, hiking, and camping were just a few of the things he loved to do. As a youth he and his friends used to go to their favorite “spot” in Fish Creek Park to just enjoy nature. Yearly family campouts, especially when he could “rough it” were times that Justin eagerly looked forward to. This love of nature led Justin to become an arborist. A job that he loved. His love of the outdoors was eclipsed only by his love of family and friends. Justin’s genuine love and concern for people shone through his actions and helped guide his life. He wanted to help everyone and was studying to become an EMT. Justin will be remembered as a kind, fun loving, thoughtful, caring young man who was loved and admired by all who knew him. His passing has left a deep void in the lives of his family and friends. A funeral service will be held for Justin at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints – Parkland Stake Center on Tuesday, March 3, 2015 at 2:00 pm.
