Ken Lefler passed away on Tuesday, March 12, 2019 at the age of 75 years. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 48 years Alyson; children Craig (Karen) Lefler, Shane (Melissa) Lefler, Julie (Seth) Gregson, Jeff (Jen) Lefler and Kyle Lefler; 15 grandchildren; siblings Rick, Nancy, Dan, Kathy and Peggy; and many more family and friends. He was predeceased by his parents Harry & Audrey Lefler and sister Myrna. Ken was born and raised in St. Catharines, ON. He met and married the love of his life Alyson and they began their family in ON. In 1976 they moved the family west and made Calgary their home. They were blessed with 5 children. Ken loved the outdoors, and spent much of his time camping and hiking. He could sit by a campfire for days. He and Alyson were long time members of the Wilderness Village Camping Association. Ken retired early so he and Alyson could travel and they spent the last 15 years traveling all over the world, including a two year mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Redlands, CA. Ken’s greatest passion was spending time with his children and grandchildren. A Funeral Service will be held for Ken at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints – Royal Oak Chapel (81 Royal Elm Drive NW, Calgary) on Monday, March 18, 2019 at 11:00 am. Interment will follow at Rocky View Garden of Peace Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family graciously requests that donations be made to the Canadian Liver Foundation (1010 – 1 Ave. NE, Calgary, AB T2E 7W7; www.liver.ca).
