It is with great sadness that the family of Kevin James Sereda announce his sudden and unexpected passing on Thursday, September 23, 2021 at the age of 60.
Kevin was born on June 20, 1961 in Thunder Bay, Ontario to Peter and Margaret Sereda. Over the last 25 years he had called Calgary home where he met and married his love Debbie Sereda (Gill). Together they made a beautiful life and loved to travel to new and exciting places, whether it be by plane or getting the camper out.
Kevin loved coming home to Thunder Bay in the summer to get out fishing with his son, brother and father. It was always a race to get the first and biggest fish. He had a passion for photography, stargazing, woodworking, and trains. He had worked and retired with CP Rail and he was excited about his retirement where he could spend more time with family, friends, and doing the things he loved. He was very proud of the beautiful custom kitchen he had recently built. Although he wasn’t a big talker, when you got him talking about one of his passions you could see that excitement and happiness spill out of him.
Kevin enjoyed cheering on the Minnesota Vikings and the New York Rangers while having friendly banter with family and friends who cheered for an opposing team. He was a proud supporter of the classic dad jokes and was always ready with one.
Kevin will be greatly missed by his son and daughter, Trevor and Robyn (Zac); stepchildren, Cheryl and Adam; brothers, Mark (Cyndi), David, Todd (Carla); sister, Cynthia (Don); grandchildren Alice and Elias; former spouse and friend, Michele Sereda; many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. Kevin was predeceased by wife Debbie Sereda, parents Peter and Margaret Sereda, sister Jane Barabash, and nephew Erik Sereda.
Relatives and friends wishing to pay their respects may do so from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. on Friday, October 15, 2021 at Pierson’s Funeral Service, 4121 – 17 Avenue SE, Calgary, Alberta.
“Your life was a blessing,

You are loved beyond words and missed beyond measure.”
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
