Laura Denise Mark

MARK Laura Denise May 17, 1966 February 14, 2012 Laura Mark passed away peacefully in her sleep on February 14, 2012 at the age of 45. She will be dearly missed by her husband David Mark of Calgary; their children: Frances (fiance Eric Strom) of Lethbridge, Lauren, Glenn and Catherine, all of Calgary; her mother & step father Muriel and Dan Paul of Winterland, Nfld; sisters: Christine Mercer (Dick), Angela Gosling (Ken) and Mona Morey ( ) all of St. John’s, Nfld; brother Lawrence Gosling of Ottawa; the entire Mark family; and many dear friends. Laura was predeceased by an infant son Benjamin Tomio Mark in 1989; father Glenn Gosling 1979 and stepfather Boyd Smith in 1993. Laura was born in Grand Bank, Nfld and raised in St. John’s. After high school, she moved to Vancouver to work. She met David and after their marriage in 1988, they moved to Japan where they started their family. They settled in Calgary in 1992 where they have lived since. Laura was an expert in the kitchen, cooking, canning, baking and experimenting. She was also skilled at quilting and sewing, using these and other talents to serve her family and all those around her. Her style was to work hard to get things done while avoiding the limelight. She was patient, optimistic and loved to laugh. Laura was a devoted member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served faithfully at every opportunity. She was proud of her Newfoundland heritage and devoted to her family here. She will be dearly missed. Funeral Services will be held at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Calgary Stake Centre, 2021 17 Avenue SW on Saturday, February 18 at 10:30 a.m. with visitation from 9:30 to 10:15 a.m. Interment will follow at Eden Brook Memorial Gardens.
