On Sunday, March 3, 2024, Mr. Leford Snaith, beloved husband of Mrs. Gloria Snaith, of Calgary, Alberta passed away at the Peter Lougheed Hospital after a lengthy illness at the age of 81 years.
Leford was born on Tuesday, September 1, 1942 in the small district called White Chapel in Mocho, Clarendon, Jamaica to Elfreda Blackstock and Vivian Snaith. He attended Brixton Hill Elementary School. Leford worked as a mason until 2019. He is not a talkative person, although Leford would engage you in long conversations that have no ending about his favorite political party. He always loved a game of Dominoes with family and friends. Leford is a loving, caring, and compassionate husband, and a good father, not only to his biological children. He came to Canada and joined his wife Gloria in February, 2014.
Besides his loving wife Gloria, Leford is survived by his children Elaine Snaith, Dwight Snaith, Lavern Snaith, Aldeen Snaith all of Jamiaca; twenty grandchildren, eighteen great-grandchildren; siblings Winston Smith, Henry Fenton, Calvin Fenton, Aston Snaith, Donna Smith, Rachel Smith, June Snaith. He is also survived by Eugenie Snaith of New Jersey, Beckie Snaith of New York, Marjorie, Michael, Horace, and numerous other relatives and friends.
The Funeral Service for Leford will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, April 12, 2024 from Abbeyddale Christian Fellowship, 1352 Abbeydale Drive SE, Calgary, Alberta. A visitation will be held prior to the service, commencing at 10:00 a.m. at the church. Interment will follow the service at the Rocky View Garden of Peace Cemetery, followed by a reception at Abbeydale Community Center.
