Lorne Baker passed away on Monday, October 4, 2021 at the age of 68 years. He will be lovingly remembered by his son Travis Miller; siblings Larry Baker, Laverne (Ben) Patton, Linda (Lindsay) Johnston and Lois Randell; dear friend and “brother” Robert Verge; nieces and nephews Annette, Ashley, Sean, Christine, Ryan, Robert; great nieces and nephews Colton, Lexi, Maisie, Makaylee, Jorja, Luca, Lucia, Rowan and Landon; and many more family and friends. He was predeceased by his parents James & Anne Baker.
Lorne was born in Tisdale, SK and after moving to Melfort, SK and Edmonton, AB ended up in Calgary, AB in his teen years which has been his home ever since. After Lorne finished his schooling he joined the family business and began driving truck with his dad. He was a truck driver for all of his life and he truly enjoyed what he did. Even on his vacations he would drive long distances. Lorne had a great sense of humour and took full advantage of being born on Halloween. He loved to spook his nieces, nephews and great nephews.
Lorne’s family would like to express their gratitude to all of the doctors and nurses at the Tom Baker Cancer Center and the nurses from palliative home care for their kind and compassionate care.
At Lorne’s request there will be no formal funeral services held If friends so desire, donations may be made in memory of Lorne to the Canadian Cancer Society (
