KING, Lorne Welby June 9, 1944 May 15, 2013 It is with heavy hearts that the family of Lorne King announces his sudden passing at the age of 68 years. He will be greatly missed by his children, Scott King of New Credit First Nation, ON, Sharon (Rob) Poglitsch of Calgary, AB, and Sandra (Floyd) Sawatzky of Kelowna, BC; special Pa of Craig, Stacy, and Ashton Hilts of Calgary; and his grandchildren, Christopher Shackleton and Cory (Raven) Shackleton of Kelowna, BC, Maurizio (Stacy) Roselli of Calgary, AB, Jordan King and Colby King of New Credit First Nation, and Nicole Poglitsch of Calgary, AB. He is also survived by his mother, Philnese Hazel King; his siblings, Leslie, Leona, Lonnie, Lawrence ‘Lolly’ (Bridie), Jean, Beverley, Victor ‘Vic’ (Harverena ‘Harv’) King all of New Credit First Nation, ON; and his aunt Pauline. Lorne was predeceased by his wife Marjorie; his daughter Sheila; his father Graham; and his nephew Dallas. Lorne attended school in New Credit and Six Nations Indian Reserve. He proudly served in the Canadian Army and held memberships with both the Moose Lodge and the Royal Canadian Legion. Lorne enjoyed a long career as a truck driver. A Memorial Service will be held at Pierson’s Forest Lawn Chapel, 4121 -17 Avenue SE, on Wednesday, May 22, 2013 at 9:00 a.m. A second Memorial Service will take place on June 9, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. at the family home of Philnese King of New Credit Indian Reserve in Ontario.
