On Thursday, October 6, 2022, Mrs. Lorretta Amos, beloved wife of the late Chuck Amos, of Calgary, Alberta, passed away at the age of 77 years.
Lorretta was born on July 29, 1945 in Hillcrest, Alberta. She grew up in the Crowsnest Pass area, living in the Burmis Logging Camp as a child where her father Frank was a heavy duty mechanic. As a young woman Lorretta loved camping and spending time with family and friends on her acreage in Crowsnest Pass. Lorretta moved to Bellevue in 1956, where she attended Hillcrest School. Lorretta then attended Isabelle Sellon High School for grades nine and ten. In 1962 she moved to Calgary and worked for Alberta Government Telephones / Telus for 33 years. Lorretta enjoyed ceramics, cross stitching, and reading magazines. Her favorite television show was the Bachelorette. Did she ever love that show. She loved cleaning. Lorretta was an immaculate house keeper. Lorretta was married to Allan (Chuck) Amos for 57 years. Chuck was the love of her life and they were inseparable and together for 64 years. Together they exemplified the true love story. Lorretta was an amazing loving wife, a wonderful mother, and was always looking out for her children up until the day that she passed away.
Lorretta was a loving mother and is survived by her son Todd Amos of Calgary; daughter Sherri MacDonald and her partner Jake Knapp of Water Valley, Alberta; sisters Susie and her husband Gerald Mottle of Calgary, Collene and her husband Ludwig Schwarz of Medicine Hat, Alberta; brother David Hill of Blairmore, Alberta; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Lorretta was predeceased by her beloved husband Allan Edwin (Chuck) Amos; mother Mary Thelda Hill; father Frank Mayfield Hill Jr.; and sisters Marie Wenisch, Verlene Wakaluk, and Betty Anderson.
