Luc Vercleyen passed away in Calgary on Sunday, December 13, 2015 at the age of 62 years. Luc was born in Opbrakel, Belgium on June 15, 1953. Luc was loved and will be passionately missed by his family which included his sons Justin (Selina) and Matthew (Amy); his grandchildren Piper, Isabelle, and Dean; his siblings Marc (Irene) and Maria-Noelle; his stepbrothers Jerry and Terry Kirkland. Luc was predeceased by his parents Robert Vercleyen and Elizabeth DeKegal. Luc had a very successful business in Contracting which included Building and Teaching Canadian style construction in Japan for many years. Later in life he excelled in IT and Web Design. Luc loved his family more than anything. He loved spending time camping, fishing, and scuba-diving. He loved to travel and explore new places. At an early age he developed a passion for cooking. His training began with his father at the Banff Springs Hotel and Luc was very proud to recreate the families special recipes. A highlight in his life was when he took a trip to New York in 2010 and he declared that he must have been a New Yorker in his past life. A Funeral Service was held for Luc at Pierson’s Forest Lawn Chapel (4121 – 17 Avenue SE, Calgary) on Tuesday, December 15, 2015 at 11:00 am.
