Luyen Quang Pham

Luyen Quang Pham passed away on Tuesday, September 17, 2024, in Calgary, Alberta, at the age of 62 years. 

Born in Da Nang, Vietnam, Luyen explored both Canada and the United States by living in Vancouver, British Columbia, Miami, Florida, Orlando, Florida, Bucks County, Pennsylvania, Louisiana, Seattle, Washington, Toronto, Ontario, and Calgary, Alberta.

A hardworking and dedicated man who touched the lives of many. Luyen was a true craftsman, having worked in the glass fabrication industry in every place he called home. His passion for his work was matched only by his love for travel, which took him to many wonderful places.

He was known for his selflessness and generosity. He volunteered at his local church and was a familiar face at homeless shelters, where he regularly served food to those in need. His commitment to helping others was unwavering. Family was at the center of Luyen's life. He cherished gatherings with his loved ones and enjoyed playing poker and bingo, especially with his sisters. His laughter and joy during these moments will be deeply missed. 

Luyen was also a freedom fighter, having bravely left communist Vietnam in search of a better life for himself and his family in the new world of Canada and the United States. His courage and determination were an inspiration to all who knew him.

Above all, Luyen was a selfless man who always prioritized his family. His legacy of love, hard work, and community service will live on in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know him.

Luyen will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Thoa Nguyen; children, Theresa Pham, Leon Pham, Luke Pham; parents, Duong and Nen Pham; brothers, Dung Pham, Tien Pham, Thai Pham, Hung Pham, Hai Pham; sisters, Ngan Pham, Ha Pham, Chinh Pham, Van Pham; nieces and nephews, Shantel Pham, Chelsea Pham, Jennifer Pham, Matthew Pham, Quinton Pham, Bao Pham, Angelina Nguyen, Alexander Minh Nguyen, Alyssa Nguyen, Faith Pham, Grace Pham, Brandon Quach, Kyle Quach; brothers and sisters-in-law, Mai Tran, Nhi Pham, Hoan Nguyen, Linh Nguyen, Estefania Saldarriaga-Pham, Viet Quach; and many extended family and friends

A Funeral Mass will be Celebrated for Luyen at St. Vincent Liem Catholic Church (2412 - 48 Street SE, Calgary) on Friday, September 27, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. with a Public Visitation beginning at 9:00 a.m.

Following the Funeral Mass there will be a procession to the crematorium for prayers and a witness cremation.
