Lynn Louisa Perreault

May 7, 1956 — January 12, 2025

Calgary

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our dear sister and friend, Lynn Perreault. Lynn served as the Universal Rehabilitation Service Agency (URSA) Ambassador for many years and was lovingly cared for by the staff at URSA’s 30th Avenue home for the past 15 years.

Lynn attended Calgary Community Day Services and was a dedicated volunteer for the Calgary Bird Sanctuary. Her love for birds and music was evident in every aspect of her life. She attended Calgary Civic Symphony concerts regularly and continued taking violin lessons until her dementia limited her activities. Her violin performances at URSA events brought joy to many.

As a fabric artist, Lynn’s creations were showcased at the Calgary Stampede for two consecutive years, thanks to the National Access Arts Centre. She also had a passion for colouring, especially birds, and spent hours immersed in her art. Lynn actively participated in JB Music sessions at home and at URSA events, sharing her lovely singing voice. Her favorite song, “Jesus Loves Me,” held special meaning for her.

Lynn taught us all empathy, kindness and compassion in her own way.

She is predeceased by her parents, Marcel and Irma Perreault; and brother-in-law, Danny Haddad. She has left her two sisters, Manon (Kurt Kowalchuk) Mitchell, and Teresa Perreault; four nieces, Jennifer Stuart (Colin Stewart), Kirsten Mitchell (Jordan Smith), Chelsea and Julia Haddad and nephews, Simon Kowalchuk and Matthew Haddad. She always asked about the “children”, her great nephew, Callum Stewart and great niece, Jacqueline Stewart. Lynn will be missed by her URSA family, Troy, Joni, Roger, Nick and Shanon Lynn as well as the many staff who cared for her with the biggest hearts possible at URSA, CCDS, NaAC and JB Music Therapy.

A Celebration of Lynn's Life will take place at Pierson's Funeral Service (4121 - 17 Avenue SE. Calgary) on Saturday, January 18th at 3:00 pm. Livestream of the service can be accessed via this link: https://us02web.zoom.us/j/88330285076
