We would like to announce the passing of our mother after a three plus year journey with dementia. She is survived by her four children; Rhonda and her daughter Alexa, Donald and wife Lisa and their children; Emma, Josh and Jacqueline. Elise and husband Thomas, Their children; Jack, Oskar, Lucy and Eden. As well as Benjamin and his children; Dexter, Isabella and Hudson.
Lynne was born in the town of Raymond, Alberta to Floyd and Ione Winters. She was the oldest of four daughters including; Marsha ( Predeceased Feb 2022), Karen and Shelley. Although she eventually moved to Calgary, a part of her heart always remained in Raymond with many beloved cousins, aunts, uncles and her grandparents. She will be interred there and return to her roots.
Lynne was a lover of reading and owned hundreds of books, It’s only appropriate that she worked as an assistant librarian for many years before retiring. She was an avid gardener and enjoyed tending to a yard, as soon as it was warm out she had her hands in the dirt. She loved to walk, hike, rollerblade, wonder nose hill park and be outside. Lynne loved to bake and was known for her fudge, homemade chocolates, buns, butter horns, and chocolate peppermint cakes. (It is a big list but these are the highlights) She loved movies as much as reading, something she shared with her kids, grandkids and many friends! She enjoyed games, there were hours spent playing cards, trivial pursuit, and many others. She was an amazing friend and loved to serve others. Her calendar was always marked with birthdays of friends she has from various stages of her life.
Our mom loved to celebrate all holidays that involved decorating, especially Christmas. More importantly, she loved when the family, Immediate and extended got together. More baking, drinking pop and lots of gabbing. She was usually the last to leave the campfire or party.
We would like to thank the Academy of Ageing for the amazing care and attention given to our mother, They have been her guardian angels while dementia quietly and slowly took her away from us. We have missed her for a while and are relieved that this journey is over, she is free.
