Turner, Margaret Doreen March 22, 1929 – November 28, 2014
Margaret Doreen Turner passed away on Friday, November 28, 2014 in her 86th year. She will be lovingly remembered by her siblings Gladys Grant of London, ON, Jean Howlett of Hamilton, ON, Dick Turner of Eatonia, SK, and her sisters-in-law Enid Turner and Dorothy Turner; 13 nieces and nephews; numerous great and great-great-nieces and nephews; and many more family and friends. Doreen was predeceased by her parents William and Margaret Turner, brothers William and Thomas Turner, sister Alice Woods, and nephew, Patrick Turner. Doreen was born and raised on the family farm at Plato, SK. She moved to Ontario to take her nursing training and began her career in Owen Sound and later in Toronto. She returned to the west and nursed in Saskatoon for several years and then moved to Calgary in the mid 1970’s where she retired from the General Hospital in 1991. Doreen loved golfing traveling, dancing, shopping, watching all sports and gardening. Her family was her greatest love. Whether it was going back to her brother’s farm for seeding or harvesting, or going to her nieces’ and nephews’ sports games, she was always there and involved. Her family will miss her dearly. A Memorial Service will be held for Doreen at McDougall United Church (8516 Athabasca Street SE, Calgary) on Tuesday, December 9, 2014 at 2:00 pm.
