Margaret Harriette Macpherson

It is with heavy hearts that the family of Margaret Harriette MacPherson announce her passing on Monday, December 23, 2019 at the age of 96 years. Margaret is survived by her two loving sons Robert Edmund MacPherson (Giselle) and Donald Ian Hinson MacPherson (Suzanne); her four dutiful grandchildren Forrester, Cloe, Melissa, and Sherry; her three precious great grandchildren; her two special nieces Judy Owens and Kathy Meahan; close family friends Marg and Gerald Ziegler; as well as other family members and friends. Sadly, Margaret was predeceased by her parents, the late Edmund John and Annie Dunlop Lowe, as well as her husband, the late John Kenneth MacPherson, whom she had missed dearly.

Margaret was born in Winnipeg and grew up in St. Vital before making her way west with her husband John. She was an incredible wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, and friend; she was always there to lend a helping hand. It was important to Margaret that she lead a clean life, and she did. She never had a harsh word for anyone, only kindness and goodwill exuded from her being. The imprint Margaret has left on this earth shall never be filled, she will be greatly missed by all those who had the absolute pleasure of knowing her.

A Celebration of Margaret’s Life will be held in the spring of 2020. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to the Calgary Humane Society (https://www.calgaryhumane.ca/donate; 4455 – 110 Ave SE, Calgary, AB T2C 2T7) in Margaret’s name.
