Maria Feleciana Oliveira

Maria Oliveira passed away on Friday, September 28, 2018 at the age of 85 years. She will be lovingly remembered by her loving husband of 59 years Jose; children Lidia (Marc) Landry, Joseph (Jane) Oliveira, John (LeeAnn) Oliveira and Lucy (Cameron) Rock; grandchildren Matthew, Reid, Christopher, Jonathan, Kaleb, Aiden and Catherine; and many more family and friends. Maria was born and raised in Sao Miguel, Azores, Portugal. She married the love of her life Jose in 1959 and then moved to Canada in 1961 where she made Calgary her new home. In Calgary is where they were blessed with their four children. Maria loved working in her flower gardens and spent much of her time outside working in them. Her family always came first and she especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. Prayer Services will be held for Maria at St. Bernadette’s Catholic Church (7103 – 20A Street SE, Calgary) on Wednesday, October 3, 2018 at 5:30 pm. A Funeral Service will be held for Maria at the same location on Thursday, October 4, 2018 at 11:00 am, interment will follow at Queens Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Society of Calgary (www.alzheimerscalgary.ca).
