HENNESSEY, Marie Aline Theresa ne Chatelain passed away peacefully at Agap Hospice on June 26, 2018 at the age of 78 in Calgary, AB, Aline was born in Ottawa, Ontario. Predeceased by her parents Rosa and Joseph, brother Raymond, in laws Mary and Edward, brothers in law Peter, John, sisters in law Lise, Mary and Geraldine, nephews Marc, Desi, Seumus, Darryl and Paul, nieces Trudy and Sharon and great nephew William. Survived by her loving husband Peter of 57 years. Lovingly remembered by her brother Michel (Victoria), daughter Diane, sons Peter (Paula), and Wayne, grandchildren Toni (Sean), Patrick (Ayla), Daniel, Ryan, great-grandsons Lincoln and Ari, nieces Danielle (Walter) and Andre, great niece Michelle and great nephews Jacob (Diane), Hugo, Giacomo, Luca, Raphal and many brothers and sisters in law, cousins, nieces and nephews on the Hennessey side of the family. Aline was a very involved mother, she volunteered at her childrens and grandchildrens schools and Brownies, she was also a Guide leader. She was involved in any sports the kids played, as well as fish and game club in Cold Lake. She also enjoyed fishing, bowling, curling, camping, travelling, bridge and listening to all kinds of music – especially Newfoundland music. She worked for the federal government her entire life and retired from ISPG in 1991. In her retirement years Peter and Aline would travel and spend their summers in Merasheen, Newfoundland, her second home. Aline played cards weekly through the seniors community association. We will miss her infectious smile and zest for life, she was the best example of living life to the fullest each and every day. Everyone was always welcome in their home and she would always make sure everyone was well fed and comfortable. She passed on her love of music to all around her. Aline was known as “Mamre” to everyone, family and friends both. Heartfelt thanks to Tom Baker Cancer Centre doctors and nurses who cared for Aline over the last 4 years and Agap Hospice staff who provided care to her during her last month. A Memorial Service will be held at St Marks Parish, 5552 Madigan Drive NE, Calgary on Friday July 13 at 3pm with a gathering to follow (contact family members for further details). She will be laid to rest in Merasheen, NL at a later date.
