Marino Golfo passed away at Chinook Care Centre on Thursday July 8, 2021 at the age of 71 years.
Marino is survived by his daughter, Margarette (Len); granddaughter, Marilyn; siblings, Avelina (Belen) & Juanito (Juaning); as well as a very large extended family of cousins, nieces and nephews in Calgary, California, Edmonton, Vancouver, Seattle and the Philippines. He is predeceased by his wife, Penafrancia since 1993; parents, Francisco and Mercedes; and siblings, Pilar, Pastora (Auring), Lorenzo (Joson) and Reginio.
Marino was born in Bailen, Cavite, Philippines and was the youngest of seven children. He immigrated to the Philippines in 1989 when he and Penafrancia were newlyweds and Margarette was an infant. He worked in the food industry as a cook and a dietary aide. He loved to cook in his spare time as well. He was creative in the kitchen and would produce delicious dishes without a recipe. He LOVED karaoke and was a fantastic singer and dancer. He enjoyed listening to the Beatles and his favourite song to sing was Release Me. He was rebellious, outgoing and extroverted – very friendly and sociable. His positive energy and kind soul will be missed by so many.
A Visitation for Marino will be held at Pierson’s Funeral Service (4121 – 17 Avenue SE, Calgary) on Thursday July 15, 2021 from 5:00pm to 9:00pm. with prayers beginning at 7:00pm. Livestream of the visitation and prayers can be viewed at the following

Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church (5340 – 4 Street SW, Calgary) on Friday July 16, 2021 at 11:00 am. with viewing beginning at 10:00am
We kindly request that guests wear masks while attending the Visitation and Mass.
Reception will be at St. Anthony’s Church Hall from 12:00pm – 1:00pm.
Graveside Service will be at St. Mary’s Cemetery (3157 Erlton St SW, Calgary) after the reception
