RUSSELL, Marjorie Lynn (nee Honeychurch)
January 16, 1947 – February 25, 2020
Lynn Russell, 73, passed from death unto life on February 25, 2020 at home. She will be lovingly remembered by her children Douglas, Sandra (James) Ullyott and Steven (Susan) as well as by her beloved grandchildren, Alyssa, Sydney, Claire and David. Lynn will also be dearly missed by her sisters Sylvia (Tom) Royan and Sharon Honeychurch, and a loving extended family. Her memory will be cherished by her church families in both Calgary and Grand Forks. She was predeceased by her husband, Wayne, in 2013 and parents, Arthur and Minnie Honeychurch. Lynn was born and raised in Calgary. In sixth grade she met Wayne, whom she later married in 1968, remaining devoted and committed to one another for almost 45 years. Lynn was a natural teacher, completing her BEd at the University of Calgary, and then teaching a variety of subjects at several schools in Calgary and Springbank. She always had a passion for books and took pride in becoming a certified teacher librarian. A committed Christian, Lynn served the congregation of Glenmore Temple in many ways including playing the organ or piano for services. She also worked diligently to provide knitted items for those who were suffering or in need. Her sincere interest in people has touched so many with love and support. Lynn loved summers at the lake, but her favourite thing to do was spend time with her grandchildren. A celebration of Lynn’s life will be held at the Salvation Army Glenmore Temple (921 – 68 Avenue SW) on Saturday, February 29, 2020 at 1:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Pines Bible Camp (Grand Forks, BC), where Lynn loved to volunteer, would be appreciated by the family.
