Marnie Ann Kubota

November 25, 1965 — March 28, 2020

With broken hearts we announce the passing of our daughter and baby sister Marnie Kubota on March 28, 2020 at the age of 54. She will be dearly missed by her father Edward Kubota; her brother Clifford Kubota (Agata); three sisters Roxanne Nemeth (Terry) of Ottawa, Candice Sephton (Paul) and Rochelle Bliek (Tim) all of Calgary; and nieces and nephews (niblings and great niblings) whom she adored and loved her in return; and many other relatives and friends. Marnie was predeceased by her mother in 1990.

Marnie was born in Lethbridge and raised in Calgary, a graduate of Lord Beaverbrook High School. As a young girl, Marnie’s untamed curls, envied by all, would bounce around as she was chased by her three older sisters while giggling. She made many friends as a child that lasted throughout her life. She worked as and administrative assistant in Oil and Gas and then for years in the Legal profession. She married Douglas Lessard, whom she was devoted to. Marnie sang like and angel or would rock a karaoke, and had all the flair of an artist. she could find humour in any situation and maintained a cheerful and optimistic attitude, even as she bravely faced her challenges. She had a caring and concerned nature, always considerate of others and their feelings. Marnie lived with a faith that she would one day return and join her mother. She could always be counted on doing right. We miss you already. Till we meet again.

A visitation will be held on Monday, April 6 at Pierson’s Funeral Home, 4121 – 17 Avenue SE, please call to schedule a time due to current restrictions of gatherings. A Funeral Service for immediate family only will be held for Marnie at Pierson’s Forest Lawn Chapel on Tuesday, April 7, 2020 at 2:00 pm. and will be broadcast live for those who would like to participate. Cremation will follow and she will be laid to rest with her mother in the Temple Hill Cemetery, Raymond, AB.
