Mary Isabel Twedt

The family of Mary Isabel Twedt (nee Hanson, m. Rennie) is sad to announce her passing on January 5, 2025 at the age of 98, surrounded in her final days by her family. Mary was born February 5, 1926 in Nanton, Alberta and was matriarch to a family of six children, nine grandchildren, twenty great grandchildren and significant extended family in the Twedt family. Mary was a determined and optimistic woman whose strength and love of family has been a model for subsequent generations.

Mary is predeceased by her sisters, Frances Stauffer and Helen Baker; husbands, John Rennie, Wilfred Twedt and John Leeder; children, Irene Rennie, Elizabeth Twedt and Ron Rennie (Betty); stepson, Laurie Twedt (Glenda); and grandson, Geoff Pressacco. Mary is survived by her children, Larry Rose (Michael), Don Rennie (Bev) and Deb Rennie; stepchildren, Wendy Davies and Thomas Twedt (Cindy); and by grandchildren, Crista Beer (Anthony), Dan Rennie (Linsey), Kim Parfitt (Christian), Shane Rennie (Nilofar), Craig Rennie (Sarah), Barb Doyscher (Jayson), Dana Wheatley (Stephen) and Erik Sorensen.

Mary will be greatly missed by her family and friends. Mary’s family would like to thank the staff at Whitehorn Village for their care and support, especially in her final weeks. 

A Memorial Service will be held at Pierson’s Funeral Service (4121 17 Avenue SE, Calgary) on Monday January 13, 2025, at 1:00PM.
