The family of Mateo Anama Sacro is greatly saddened to announce the passing of their husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend on September 14, 2014 at the age of 86. Mateo is lovingly remembered by his wife of 64 years Laureana; children Luz Sacro of Toronto, Lita (Chris) Diacosta of the Philippines, Paz (Eddie) Palilio of Calgary, Lilia (Bayani) Ruiz of the Philippines, Emma (Jeffrey) Nombre of Calgary, Velma (Zaldy) Bruno of the Philippines, and Laury (Catherine) Sacro of Calgary; grandchildren Crislei and Rey Diacosta, Leo and Leonel Ruiz, Marc Laurenz, Charis and John Edward Bruno all of the Philippines, Brian and Jemma Nombre and Laurenz and Angely Sacro of Calgary. Mateo is predeceased by his parents Petra Anama and Pascual Sacro; siblings Dionisio and Segundino Sacro and Claudia Sambrano; as well as a daughter Lita Sacro Diacosta. Mateo loved his family dearly and is very warmly remembered as an amazing father. He especially adored spending time, playing and having fun with his many grandchildren. In his younger years, before moving to Canada, Mateo had a farm in his homeland of the Philippines and always fondly remembered his time spent outside tending to his land. Mateo also greatly enjoyed fishing and one could often find him heading out to one of his favorite places to enjoy the sun, water and tranquility that the sport brought him. Mateo is dearly missed by all that knew and loved him. For those wishing to attend an evening of Prayers and Visitation will be held on Friday, September 19, 2014 from 5:00pm to 9:00pm at Pierson’s Forest Lawn Chapel (4121 17 Ave S.E. 403-235-3602). A Funeral Service will take place Saturday September 20, 2014 at 10:30am at Holy Trinity Church (1525 45 St S.E. 403-272-1258). Messages of condolence may be forwarded to www.piersons.ca
