Matthew Vaughan Keewatin 'Calling Loon Man' was called home by the Creator on March 5, 2024. He was born in Calgary, AB on May 24, 1986 and spent his entire life in Calgary.
Matthew was a hardworking, energetic man who sought employment within the asbestos and demolition work force. He was also a family man and has left behind his wife, Cerista Good Eagle-Turtle and their children, Clayton, Melvin and Maria. Although he was separated from them at the time of his death, he loved them and was still very committed to their well being. He wanted them to be happy and helped them any way he could. Their happiness brought him joy and happiness.
Matthew will also be missed by his sweetheart Sapphire RedGun who shared his final months with him. He will be lovingly remembered by his grandmother, Mary Louise Stripped Wolf whom he cherished greatly; his father's family, the Many Grey Horses, Many Bears and Panther Bones; his maternal family, George Peyachew (Dad) and Aleisa Keewatin (Mother); siblings, Michelle Keewatin, Natasha Keewatin, Malcolm, Peyachew, Letisha Peyachew, Alexander Peyachew, and Andrew Keewatin. His surviving family members have lost the one who brought so much laughter into their lives.
Matthew is predeceased by his father, Melvin Many Grey Horses Jr.; brother, Joseph Bellegarde; grandparents, Melvin Many Grey Horses Sr., Nobert Fox, Michael Keewatin and Aldonna Brass.
Wake Services will take place at the Residence of Trina Keewatin on Sunday April 21 starting at 12:00pm.
The Funeral Service for Matthew will be at Pierson's Forest Lawn Chapel (4121 - 17 Avenue SE, Calgary) on Monday, April 22, 2024 at 12:00 pm.
After the funeral, the graveside service will be at Rockyview Garden of Peace Cemetery (243208 Garden Road, Calgary)
Following the graveside, there will be a Traditional Feast at the Residence of Crystal Cardinal.
