It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved Megan Goett on Thursday, June 29, 2023, at the young age of 37 years. Megan passed away peacefully surrounded by her loved ones by her side at home after a 3 year courageous battle with Breast Cancer.
Megan was an amazing young lady who touched many lives throughout her lifetime. Those that knew Megan, know the most important thing in her life was family and friends. She loved the gatherings with her amazing neighbours in the Bay, for fires, drinks and many laughs or the socials with the ladies known as the ‘Bella’s’ of the Bay. Megan married her lifetime love Neil, her high school sweetheart, best friend, and soulmate of 22 years. She loved the outdoors, country life and outings with her mom. In November, her family took a trip to the Bahamas and fell in love with Paradise Island. You could tell by Megan’s excitement, that was her special place.
We all watched Megan fight so hard with so much courage and positivity, the kind of courage that people could only dream of having. She held her head high with that beautiful smile, she’d say ‘tomorrow will be better’.
Megan leaves behind her son, Emmett Goett; husband, Neil Goett; parents, Carol and Eric Toovey; brother, Ryan Tikk-Toovey; and her in-laws Randy and Deanna Goett, all of Calgary, AB; brothers in-law, Derek (Marlena) Goett and Ryan (Nicole) Goett; many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
To honour Megan’s wishes, a Celebration of Life will be held at their home on Saturday, July 8, 2023 from 1:00pm to 5:00pm, where people can share laughs and memories of this beautiful lady. People are asked to think of a memory of Megan and write it down prior to, or at the Celebration. The family will be putting these memories in a book for Emmett to remember his incredible, amazing Mom. Further details of this event can be directed to
