Megan Melita Lord (Nee Ellis)

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Megan Lord (nee Ellis) on July 10, 2023 in Calgary, Alberta.
Megan was born on July 9, 1942, to Iris Brown and Leon Ellis (both predeceased), in St. James, Jamaica. Megan immigrated to Canada in 1970, in pursuit of better opportunities and quality of life for her family.
She worked as a nanny for many years before she joined the Custodial Team at the Foothills Hospital. She was a dedicated and valued employee for 30 years. After retirement, she worked part-time as a homecare worker. Her clients loved her very much as she not only cared for them, but her jovial personality and positive outlook on life, made a difference in their lives.
Megan is survived by her four children, Bryan, Winsome, Karen, Charmaine, 12 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her 5 sisters, 2 brothers, along with numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends in Canada, the US, England and Jamaica.
Visitation for Megan will be held at Pierson’s Funeral Service (4121 -17 Avenue SE, Calgary) on Friday, July 28 from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
Celebration of Life Service will be at Grace Baptist Church (2670 Radcliffe Dr. SE, Calgary) on Saturday, July 29, 11:00 a.m.
Graveside service to follow at Mountain View Memorial Gardens (1605 100 St SE, Calgary, AB) at 2:00pm.
