Melissa Coralie Johnson

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Melissa Coralie Johnson, who left this world on March 11, 2025, in Calgary, Alberta. Born on September 30, 1981, at Calgary General Hospital, Melissa spent her life primarily in Calgary, with a portion of her adult years in Airdrie. She was known for her quiet demeanor and her fondness for solitude, especially during her younger years.

Melissa was a woman of artistic talent, often engaging in arts and crafts with her parents as a child. They were some of her most treasured memories with her parents. Her creativity was reflected in the many artworks displayed throughout her home. Melissa had a love for music and was an active member of the junior choir at her church, where she enjoyed singing with others.

Her kindness was apparent to all who knew her; she possessed a generous spirit and was always ready to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. Above all, Melissa cherished her children deeply. She is survived by her beloved children: Laquisha, Kenesha, Cassidy, Asia, and Enzo.

Melissa was a loving daughter to Robert and Marvolyn Johnson, and she leaves behind her siblings: Geoffrey, Wayne, Norvel (Samra), Kenrick, and Nicole, along with her sister Maureen Smith of Ontario. She also leaves a close-knit family of supporters and friends, including Hope and Jason Deneve of Mexico, Saira Williams of Edmonton, and Faith and Ken Louissant of Calgary.

A viewing will be held in her honour on March 21, 2025, from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at Showers of Blessings Apostolic Church in Calgary to allow family and friends to pay their respects. Following the viewing, a funeral service will commence at 12:30 p.m. Melissa will then be laid to rest in a graveside service at Rocky View Garden of Peace Cemetery at 2:00 p.m.

Melissa Coralie Johnson's legacy of love, kindness, and artistic expression will be remembered by all who were fortunate enough to know her. Her presence will be greatly missed.
