With peace and dignity, Millie was called to her Divine appointment on Wednesday, March 18, 2015 at the age of 90 years. She leaves to cherish her memory her sister Gwendolyn (Albie) Janko; nieces Ronda Endersby, Karen (Dave) Carter, Arlene Currie, Rona-Lee (Shawn) Campbell and Teree (Ken) Hokanson; nephew Darwyn Dowling; numerous nieces and nephews; and many more family and friends. She was predeceased by her devoted husband Einar in 2000. Millie was born in Maple Creek, SK and was always proud to be a farm girl. She eventually made Calgary her home in 1951 and she has lived here ever since. She met and married the love of her life Einar in Calgary and they had 30 joyful years of marriage. Millie worked at the General Hospital in Calgary for more than 30 years. In addition to her work, she loved to volunteer and serve others. After her retirement and losing her husband, she threw herself into her volunteer work. She made beds for Inn from the Cold, devoted much of her time to her church Emmanuel Community Church and more specifically the Stephen Ministries, and to the Glenmore Salvation Army Temple. Millie continued to serve until the last couple of years when she started her fight with Dementia. The family would like to thank the staff of Rocky Ridge Retirement Community for their love and support during that time. A Graveside Service will be held for Millie at the Brooks Cemetery (Brooks, AB) on Saturday, March 21, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. If friends so desire, donations may be made in Millies name to the Alzheimer Society of Canada (www.alzheimer.ca).
