DOBSON, Nicholas Vincent “Nick” June 4, 1971 June 7, 2012 It is with great sorrow that the family of Nick Dobson announces his sudden passing at the age of 41 years. He will be forever loved by his spouse Charmaine Trofin; his children Nicole and Matthew; step son Noe Boissonneault; father Larry; maternal grandfather Gord Andry; brother James (Dulcie) as well as numerous extended family and close friends. He was predeceased by his mother Carol; his maternal grandmother Gwen as well as his paternal grandparents Leonard and Kathleen. Nick found his true vocational calling in Calgary as he developed his knowledge and skills in working with people with disabilities. Prior to this career, he volunteered for disabled sports organizations since his childhood and he was a coach for the Windsor Stallions Disabled Sports Club. His greatest coaching success came in 1997 when he coached his mother, a disabled athlete, to a world record. A major grounding influence was his love of martial arts. After years of study and training, he started Meridian Martial Arts, which provided private instruction. His role model was Bruce Lee, who symbolized excellence in martial arts and life achievement itself. His loving dedication as a father to his children was unparalleled. They were the central focus of his life and his primary reason for being, consistently putting their needs and needs of others ahead of his own. Nick constantly pursued spiritual enlightenment as a means to understand life, including his role and purpose. For this final journey, may you finally be at peace surrounded by the love and serenity you so rightly deserve. A Celebration of Life will be held at Highland Park Community Association (3716 – 2 St NW) on Friday, June 15, 2012 at 10:30 am. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Calgary Child Advocacy Centre (
