With heavy hearts we sadly announce the passing of our beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother Norma Moody on Thursday, August 21, 2014 at the Rockyview Hospital at the age of 77. She will be lovingly remembered by two daughters Gail of Calgary and Karen of Sparwood, BC; a son Adam (Kim) of Summerland, BC; grandchildren Victoria Mamie, Jordan Francis, Mark Francis and Alexandra Yvonne; great-granddaughter Avaya Harriet; and many other family members and friends. She was predeceased by her husband and best friend of 53 years John in 2012; son Mark in 1995 and brother Michael in April of this year. Norma was born and bred in Leeds, Yorkshire, England. She met the love of her life John in Leeds where they married and started their family. Together they decided to move to Canada to provide a better life for their children. In 1973 they made Calgary home with their young family. Norma was an amazing mother. She taught herself to embroider and knit with her latest passion being quilting. Her children, grandchildren, great-grandchild and various charities all benefited from her talents. She was a product of her time who insisted on her family practicing good manners and courtesy towards others. Her family meant everything to her and she dedicated her life to them. We will remember her most for the love she had for us and the way she showed it. At Norma’s request there will be no funeral services. Messages of condolence may be forwarded to the family at www.piersons.ca. Arrangements are in care of PIERSON’S FUNERAL SERVICE. Telephone 403 235-3602.
