Orlando Resurreccion Baniaga

With great sadness we announce the passing of Orlando Baniaga on Saturday, September 16, 2023 in Calgary, Alberta at the age of 68.

Orlando was born in the Philippines where he lived before immigrating to Canada in 2014. He worked as electrician and meat cutter in Calgary.

Orlando is the sixth child of Lauro Baniaga and Ignacia Resurreccion. Being robust and healthy most of his life. He enjoyed balancing work in the farm, employment as electrician, caring for his lovely family and fulfilling an active role in his church. He will be remembered by many as a hardworking, cheerful and affectionate person.

Orlando is survived by his wife, Elnora Villaluz; children, Roel (Gaelic), Orlando Jr. (Cherrylyn), Claire, Emerson (Elies); grandchildren, Chloe Jane, Luis, Elaiza, Eleazone, Elizer, Ethan, Allaina, Allyson and Aljohn; sisters, Fe Corpuz (Norberto), Thelma Infante (John), Erlinda Bañaga, Genalene Guinto (Mario); sisters, Marilyn Nancarrow (David), and Aurora Anderson (Gunnar); brothers, Salvador Baniaga (Alma), Pablo Baniaga (Teresa), Edgardo Bañaga (Clady), Lawrence Bañaga (Kathy), Robert (Maria Elisa ) and Ronald Bañaga (Stephanie). He was predeceased by his brother Juan R. Bañaga.

A Public Visitation will be held at Pierson’s Funeral Service – Forest Lawn Chapel (4121 17 Avenue SE, Calgary) on Friday October 6, 2023 at 5:00 p.m.

A Memorial Service will be held at Pierson’s Funeral Service – Forest Lawn Chapel (4121 17 Avenue SE, Calgary) on Saturday, October 7, 2023 at 2:00 p.m.
