Gordon Murphy passed away on Monday, February 15, 2016 at the age of 78 years. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife Theresa; children John (Janice) Cramp, Diane (Robert) Moyor, David (Mary-Etta) Murphy and Danny Murphy (Shayanne); grandchildren James, Jennifer (Will), Jeff (Elissa), Jacqueline (Steve), Jared (Allie), Jason (Jodi), Curtis (Heather), Stephen (Kristina), Jessica-Rae (Riley), Cody (Alexandra), Samuel, Derek (Colleen), Aaron, Ashley (Hazen), Darren (Whitney), Trevor, Kelly, Gordon (Danielle) and Bradley (Kierra); eighteen great grandchildren; brother Patrick; sister Suzy; and many more family and friends. He was predeceased by his parents Ralph Cramp and Mary-Ellen Murphy and brothers, Ralph, Tom and Mike. Gordon was born in Montreal, QC and raised in Chateauguay, QC. Prior to moving to Calgary in 1977 he worked in Montreal at Armstrong. While in Calgary he had a long career as a welder and finished his working years with Cactus Machine. Gordon loved watching baseball, fishing and going to the Casino. He loved spending time with his family and friends and will always be remembered for his big spaghetti dinners. The family would like to express their gratitude to all of the staff of Agape Hospice for their excellent care. A Memorial Service will be held for Gordon at Pierson’s Forest Lawn Chapel (4121 – 17 Avenue SE, Calgary) on Saturday, February 20, 2016 at 11:00 am. If friends so desire, donations may be made in memory of Gordon to The Salvation Army Agape Hospice (1302 – 8 Avenue NW, Calgary, AB T2N 1B8) Messages of condolence may be forwarded to the family at www.piersons.ca.
