Peter Loogman

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Peter Loogman at Rockyview Hospital on Tuesday, November 7, 2017 at the age of 84 years. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He will be lovingly remembered by his children Bill (Yvonne) Loogman, Anita (Don) Poffenroth, Andy (Emelie) Loogman; grandson Kyle Poffenroth; four legged family member Mya; and many more family and friends. He was predeceased by his wife Catharina “Nettie” Loogman and grandson Eric Poffenroth. Peter was born and raised in Amsterdam. In 1956 he emigrated to Canada, and eventually married the love of his life “Nettie.” Peter was a structural draftsman and was involved in projects at the Calgary International Airport, Mount Royal College and his church, St Gerard’s Catholic Church. He loved the outdoors, but his greatest passion was helping others. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated for Peter at St. Gerard’s Catholic Church (8944 Elbow Dr. SW, Calgary) on Tuesday, November 14, 2017 at 11:00 am. Visitation will begin at 10:00 am. If friends so desire, donations may be made to St. Gerard’s Catholic Church.
