Rachel Annette Poucette

It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of our Mother, Grandmother, Sister, Cousin, Niece, Aunt, Mother-in-law, sister-in-law, adopted Mom, adopted aunt, Rachel Annette Poucette on Thursday, July 22, 2021 at the age of 52 years.

Mom Rachel is the youngest child of the late Jack and Cindy Simeon. She enjoyed and loved hanging around with her family. Most of all she loved her children, and grandchildren. They were the world to her. She always wanted the best for them. Rachel believed in her Yethka traditional ways, making dry meat, tanning hides, Sundance , and outdoor camping. This was so important to her. Rachel also loved traditional holidays, Christmas, Easter, and birthday parties. In her younger days she attended and danced in pow wow with her late mom and enjoyed carrying on her tradition with her girls attending Pow-Wows, watching her beautiful daughters dancing. She also loved to barrel race at rodeos. Rachel’s favorite outdoor activity was baseball. She received her education at Morley Community School. She lived life to the fullest.

Rachel leaves to mourn her loving children Trandon (Tammi), Shuylena, Kisa; grandchildren Jamal, Jayden, Killian, Kiyah, Brooklyn, Adopted children Rhonda, (Hyron), Geraldine Powderface, Toby Bearspaw, Jackie Simeon (Tony), Hope Beaver (Dale), Riley Kaquitts, Joey (Taylor) Fox, Rod Lightening, Michael Simeon Jr., Kiefer Holloway, Jack Simeon, Jordan Simeon and Winston Jr; siblings Margaret (Patrick), Dephine, Evangeline (Van), Florine (Gilbert), Winston Simeon, Melvin Rabbit (Geraldine); sister in law Audrey; mother in laws Doreen, Norma and Debbie Poucette and the Poucette families Mellie, Geraldine (Larry), Flora, Tracy Mark, Andrew, Leon (Doyletta), Rey (Sharon),Charles (Bernadine); as well as numerous relatives and friends from Bighorn, Eden Valley, Morley, and Maskwacis.

Rachel is predeceased by her husband Murphy Poucette, son Killian, daughters Holly and Nakoda, and granddaughter Navaeh, parents Jack and Cindy Simeon, Joan Hunter, Michael Simeon Sr., Rosie Daniels, Tammy Lightening, aunt Priscilla, brother Michael Simeon Sr., and in laws Doris Poucette, Murphy Wildman, David and Yvonne Poucette, brother in laws Terry, and Shawn.

Wake will take place Wednesday, July 28, 2021 and Thursday, July 29, 2021 at the Residence of Trandon Poucette, Stoney Nation, Alberta. Funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, July 30, 2021 at the Residence of Trandon Poucette. Graveside service will follow at Wesley Cemetery, Stoney Nation, Alberta. Feast to follow at Residence of Trandon Poucette.
