Ray Anderson Whitehead

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Ray Anderson Whitehead. He passed away peacefully at the Foothills Hospital at the age of 85, battling long-term heart related health issues. He will be greatly missed by all those who knew him for his sharp wit and generosity of spirit. He is survived by his two daughters, Cindy and Karen Whitehead; brother, Preston Whitehead; as well as a niece, Susan (Mike) Krebs; nephews, David and Blair Whitehead and extended family. We would like to thank Paul Dytham and Scott Gourlay for their love and support at this difficult time. In addition, we would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to Rays team of doctors, nurses and other staff at the Foothills Hospital for going to the ends of the earth to help him. As a family, we give our love and gratitude to anyone who has made time in their life to visit with Dad and offer their time and service. Funeral services to celebrate Ray’s life will be held at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints – Bow Valley Chapel (2526 – 24 Avenue NW, Calgary) on Saturday May 25, 2019 at 10:00 am. Visitation will begin at 9:00 a.m. A reception will follow the ceremony at the church. Graveside services will be held at Horn Hill Cemetery (105, 27205 Highway 42, Penhold, AB) at 2:00 p.m. Donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
