Reece Howell Pearson

August 19, 1922 — January 12, 2017

Reece Pearson passed away on Thursday, January 12, 2017 at the age of 94 years. He will be lovingly remembered by his sons Charlie Pearson and Dick (Sue) Pearson; sisters Cleo Bilton and Beth Marles; and many family and friends. He was predeceased by his wife Larue Pearson and siblings Ken Pearson, Ethel Weir and Lois Winters. Reece was born in Idaho Falls, ID and in 1925 the family moved to start the farm near Indus, AB. He attended Olds College where he developed skills to become a successful farmer and Registered Hereford Breeder. In 1948 he met Larue Gorham and they were married in 1949. Reece and Larue retired to Calgary where they enjoyed travel, socializing with friends and returned often to lend a hand on the farm. He was a wonderful caregiver to Larue before she passed away in 1993. Reece was a true gentlemen who took extra care to remember names and small details about people. His family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude for the care the health-care professionals have given their father in the last year. A Memorial Service will be held at The Church of Jesus Christ and Latter-day Saints – Crescent Road Chapel (202 Crescent Road NW, Calgary) on Wednesday, January 18, 2017 at 1:00 pm. Interment will have taken place at Queens Park Cemetery. If friends so desire, donations may be made in memory of Reece to Olds College (www.oldscollege.ca/donations). Messages of condolences may be forwarded to the family at www.piersons.ca.
