It is with great sadness that we announce our loving son, brother, uncle and friend, Robbert Bos of Calgary, Alberta, passed away on May 30, 2021 at the age of 60.
He will be fondly remembered by his mother, Niny Bos, brother, Peter Bos and his wife Sharon, sister Rose Geier (Andy Deszynski); nieces and nephews Aislinn Cairns (Nolan), Courtney Geier, Chelsea Clements (Thomas), Jesse Geier, Stephanie Layton (Todd), Stacie Hudson (David); his ten grand nieces and nephews; stepmother, Eleonore Bos van den Hemel (Jan); stepbrother, Marc Joustra; and stepsister, Monique Joustra (Richard Brady). Robbert is predeceased by his father, Jan Bos and his brother-in-law, Allan Geier.
Robbert was born in the Netherlands and immigrated to Canada with his family when he was 6 years old in 1967. Robbert served a full-time mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. After his mission, he served in the Canadian Armed Forces Naval Reserve. Robbert worked construction as a carpenter/handyman for most of his working life. His interests included designing, building, and flying model airplanes, wood working, and auto mechanics . Robbert was always interested to see how things worked. He had a brilliant mind and was always interested in learning about everything. Robbert enjoyed socializing with family, friends, and neighbors. Robbert’s kindness and thoughtfulness had a great impact on those he associated with. He gave freely of his time helping others, Robbert epitomized service.
Robbert was a great blessing to his family, friends, and strangers. He will be dearly missed by all.
Relatives and friends are invited to a time of visitation from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, June 6, 2021 at Pierson’s Funeral Service, 4121 – 17 Avenue SE, Calgary. Due to the pandemic protocol, only 20 people are permitted in the funeral home at one time. Please stagger your arrival. Masks and social distancing are required.
Funeral services to be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday June 7, 2021 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints – Willow Park Chapel, 940 Acadia Drive SE, Calgary.
