Robert Newhook

Robert Newhook passed away on Monday, February 13, 2023 at the age of 61 years. He will be lovingly remembered by the love of his life, Sylvia Newhook of Calgary,AB; his children, Natasha (Rob Olafson) and Shane (Brittney Bartuccio) Newhook of Calgary, AB; his grandchildren, Jaiden, Shaelyn, Keenan and Breanne Newhook of Calgary, AB; Robert’s siblings, Barbra Hollett of New World Island, NL, Debra (Berry) Tizzard of Springdale, NL, Eugene (Daphne) Newhook of Grandfalls-Windsor, NL and Valerie (Craig) Pretty of Bishop Falls, NL; as well as his aunts, Barbara Faulkner and Winnie Burge of Bishop Falls, NL.

Robert was predeceased by his parents, Robina and Albert Newhook; his brother, Ronnie Newhook; brother-in-law; Donald Hollett; Uncle, Cecil Newhook; and Robert’s niece, Robyn Pretty.

Robert was born in Botwood, NL to Robina and Albert Newhook. He later found himself in Calgary ,AB where he put down his roots with wife Sylvia. Robert had a long 38 year career as a truck driver for Engineered Air. He was a loyal hardworking man who would do anything to provide for his family.

Robert was a lover of the outdoors and had a passion for fishing and being on the river with his grandkids. He spent many summers camping and making memories with his family.

Robert found joy in the art of collecting. Not anything in particular but whatever caught his eye. Robert will be remembered for his sense of humor and kind nature.

He will be dearly missed by all who knew him.

A Celebration of life will be held for Robert at Pierson’s Forest Lawn Chapel (4121 – 17 Avenue SE, Calgary) on Thursday, February 23, 2023 at 1:00 pm.
